AI-native construction software company – XBuild – has raised $19m in Series A funding and launched a new AI-powered product designed to dramatically speed up residential roofing estimates.
The funding round was led by N47, with participation from Rackhouse Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, and will support XBuild’s expansion beyond roofing into additional construction verticals including concrete, landscaping, glazing, insulation, HVAC and plumbing.
Founded by Jahan Khanna and Rob Moran, former executives at Uber and Postmates, alongside civil engineer Sharuk Khanna, XBuild aims to modernise one of construction’s most persistent bottlenecks – estimating and proposal generation.

In its first year of operation, the platform has already supported over 15,000 completed projects, representing over $250m in construction value. Contractors using XBuild have collectively saved over 40,000 hours by automating estimate creation.
XBuild’s platform uses agentic, chat-based AI that is trained on the inputs contractors already rely on, including site photos and measurement reports, to generate standardised, editable estimates in minutes. The system is designed to work without onboarding or lengthy demonstrations, reducing friction for small and mid-sized contractors.
The newly launched Roofing Proposals product extends this approach to residential roofing. It integrates real-time pricing from major material suppliers such as ABC Supply, supports multiple industry-standard measurement formats including EagleView, GAF QuickScope, Hover and Roofr, and allows contractors to generate proposals directly from PDFs or site images.
For homeowners, the platform creates a transparent digital proposal with Good, Better and Best pricing options, e-signature functionality and integrated Stripe payments, helping contractors accelerate approvals and improve cash flow.
