BlackRock backs Atlas Invest with $25m to scale real estate lending

BlackRock backs Atlas Invest with $25m to scale AI-powered private credit and modernise commercial real estate lending.

Global asset manager BlackRock has led a $25m investment in Atlas Invest, signalling rising institutional appetite for AI-enabled private credit platforms in commercial real estate.

The funding will support the expansion of Atlas Invest’s bridge lending platform, which originates senior loans secured against commercial real estate assets. The platform uses proprietary artificial intelligence to source, underwrite and continuously monitor loans, addressing what the company sees as structural inefficiencies in traditional real estate credit processes.

Rather than relying on static, point-in-time due diligence, Atlas Invest applies institutional-grade analysis on an ongoing basis throughout the life of each loan. Its technology aggregates and refreshes data on both borrowers and assets, allowing risk assessments to evolve as market conditions change. The approach is designed to give investors greater transparency into portfolio performance while enabling more consistent credit oversight at scale.

The latest investment follows an $11 million funding round completed in December 2024 and marks the next phase of Atlas Invest’s growth. The additional capital will allow the company to increase lending capacity and widen access to its technology-driven platform as demand for private real estate debt continues to grow.

“The market is shifting, investors are demanding income strategies that combine security, predictable returns, and professional oversight. We built Atlas to deliver institutional-grade underwriting and monitoring at software speed, combining a deep operating platform with a disciplined credit approach. This scale and consistency allow us to raise the bar for transparency and reliability in real estate debt.”

As institutional investors look for more resilient income strategies amid market volatility, AI-powered private credit platforms like Atlas Invest are increasingly positioned as an alternative to traditional real estate lending models.
