Street.co.uk introduces a new AI-driven platform ‘Cortex’ which enables agents to build and deploy their own AI workforce, fundamentally changing how agencies operate, scale and structure their teams.
Cortex has been developed over the last six months and sits above its existing CRM and marketing ecosystem, allowing agents to create, run, and orchestrate AI agents capable of executing real work across the full spectrum of agency workflows.
From handling enquiries and client communication through to marketing, sales progression, and property management tasks, these AI agents are designed to take action within an agency’s existing systems, rather than simply assist with them.
The launch of Cortex signals a significant shift in how estate agencies are structured, demonstrating how large parts of the traditional, admin-heavy agency model can now be handled by intelligent systems capable of reasoning, decision making and executing multi-step tasks.
“There’s a lot of noise around AI at the moment, and much of it is focused on layering new tools onto existing systems. Cortex isn’t an add-on like the many other ‘solutions’ we’re seeing enter the market, it’s a completely new way of running an agency.
“It allows agents to create and deploy AI that actually does the work, not just assist with it, and that has a direct impact on how agencies are structured and how they scale.
“So for example, Cortex won’t just help you form an appropriate response to a client email, it will receive, write and reply to it. And that’s really just its baseline capabilities, it’s not just capable of more, the possibilities are literally endless.”

Cortex allows agents to be freed from time-intensive administrative processes, allowing them to focus more of their time on high-value activities such as negotiation, relationship management, vendor care and deal completion.
Unlike many competitors who are launching yet another AI ‘add-on’ layered onto existing systems, Street’s latest release reflects a far more fundamental shift in capability and intent.
Rather than improving the current model incrementally, Cortex redefines it entirely, enabling agents to deploy AI that can independently execute tasks across their business, removing the need for many of the manual processes that have traditionally defined estate agency operations.
A key differentiator of the platform is its flexibility. Agents can build their own AI agents using natural language instructions, selecting the tools and permissions required for each task, and iterating over time to refine performance.
“We understand that this level of change comes with significant implications for the industry, particularly when it comes to how teams are built and the roles that exist within them.
“But ultimately, this technology is about enabling agents to spend more time doing the things that truly require a human touch, building relationships, advising clients, and delivering better outcomes.
“It’s a major shift, and one that will effectively rewrite the playbook for estate agency operations. And while that’s a big statement, it’s one that becomes very clear the moment you see Cortex in action.”

The platform allows for the creation of highly customised workflows, from automated applicant re-engagement and enquiry handling through to content creation, internal knowledge management and compliance support.
Given the breadth of capability, Cortex represents a significant evolution in agency technology, one that carries clear implications for how estate agencies are staffed and structured.
With AI agents capable of handling the majority of computer-based tasks within an agency, the role of the agent is set to evolve, with a greater emphasis placed on human-led activities that drive client outcomes and long-term relationships, rather than process-driven tasks.
