e4 Strategic extends AI partnership with Caversham House

e4 Strategic has expanded its partnership with specialist AI strategy, training and advisory firm Caversham House as it continues to embed advanced, people-first artificial intelligence capabilities into the development of its VERSA platform.

The extended collaboration is designed to accelerate VERSA’s production environment while building long-term internal AI capability across e4 Strategic’s teams. The approach focuses on improving development speed and scalability while ensuring AI adoption supports, rather than replaces, human expertise.

The partnership has already delivered measurable operational improvements. e4 Strategic reports that sprint velocity across production teams has increased by more than 50%, supported by higher-quality development inputs, faster onboarding and more efficient workflows. The use of combined human and AI code review processes has also reduced review time by around 20%.

VERSA has been developed in the UK over the past four years in collaboration with mortgage lenders and conveyancing specialists. The platform builds on more than two decades of experience delivering similar technology solutions to major mortgage lenders and conveyancers in South Africa.

VERSA is a digital workflow management platform designed to connect mortgage lenders, conveyancers, consumers and other stakeholders in the property process. It is purpose-built for the UK market, based on insights gained from lenders, conveyancers and technology partners. The platform offers panel management, secure messaging, queries automation, digital document workflows, analytics and insights, and open APIs for any value-add third-party integrations.

“Caversham House and its founder Chris Hornby are world-class experts in this field, having worked with major organisations in high pressure environments in the US and the UK, to help them sustainably strengthen their internal AI capabilities. VERSA is all about helping lenders and conveyancers modernise the post-offer journey, and this partnership equips e4 with the most modern tools available and the AI adoption know-how to use them safely and effectively.

“As a tech company, this can be a long road at times, but we are focused on building lasting capability rather than short-term fixes, enabling us to give our clients faster development cycles, with strong compliance, and more scalable operations, all via VERSA. This also strongly supports the AI functionality being embedded into the platform itself to support users.”

Simon Slater, CEO, e4 Strategic

The partnership reflects e4 Strategic’s wider approach to responsible AI adoption, with an emphasis on governance, compliance and long-term skills development rather than short-term automation gains.

“AI adoption sticks when people are given the tools, training, and expertise to reshape their own workflows. By working across the e4 teams, we’re embedding that approach into VERSA, ensuring e4 remains at the forefront of its own AI journey, while giving users the benefit of fast but sustainable improvements on an ongoing basis, regardless of which tools or models are currently in fashion. And it’s been a real pleasure to be part of that transformation with the e4 teams.”
