Ploti has launched the real estate data layer for AI – a single place where any AI agent can query zoning, permits, ownership, rezoning history, flood and utility data – pulled directly from the county and city governments that keep those records.
According to Ploti for decades, real estate data has been sold one way. A small group of incumbent providers pay people to collect records from thousands of local governments, then license the result through negotiated contracts that run from tens of thousands to millions of dollars a year, with limits on seats, lookups, and exports. That model was built for analysts logging into a platform. It was not built for AI agents, which are quickly becoming the main way real estate teams do their research.
“The cost of real estate data was never the data. It was the labour of collecting it from thousands of places. Agents can now do that labour.
“So, we built a data company where agents acquire the data and agents use it, and we can offer it at a price that makes sense to every team, not just the largest firms.”
Brennen Fountain, Founder and CEO, Ploti
Ploti rebuilt the acquisition process for that shift, with its own data agents find local sources, work through GIS servers, permit portals, recorder sites and meeting archives, read PDFs, compile records and keep them current. When a county doesn’t publish a dataset, Ploti’s agents email the county and manage the exchange. As the work is automated end to end, Ploti acquires a dataset for a small fraction of what manual collection costs and passes those savings on to its customers.
Ploti has identified 57,818 local datasets and provides queryable data across 40 states, with more added every day. Each dataset is fetched once, stored in full, and traced to its source, so an agent can query the entire record rather than one lookup at a time. In one customer request, Ploti’s agents rebuilt 20 years of rezoning votes from 1,823 meeting documents in two and a half days.
“Real estate data is local, and it lives in systems that were never designed to be read by software.
“We built Ploti so an AI agent can ask for any record in a county and get it back with its source, whether we already have it or our agents go and get it.”

Ploti works with the assistants’ teams already use such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Codex, Grok Bot, Meta Muse, Instinct AI, GPT Dots, and any other assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) can connect in a few minutes. Teams without an assistant can use Ploti’s own agent on the web, Mac or Windows.
