Hortons launches AI-powered property search

The Leicester based estate agency has revealed an AI-powered property search tool alongside their standard property filters.

Leicester estate agency Hortons has unveiled an AI-powered search tool enabling users to use a single search function to find properties, moving information and local agents.

Hortons commented that users conducted over 14,000 searches through Intelligent Search during a one-month beta period. The figure does not include searches made through the website’s conventional property search. The Intelligent Search uses relevance-based results as opposed to relying on postcode or area filters.

The search allows users to input wider searches like a specific village or road – ‘three-bedroom houses in [area]’. Results can comprise matching properties, moving information and information of the relevant local Hortons agent.

The company launched its self-employed agency model in 2016, and their standard property filters remain available.

“Intelligent Search is our latest clear redirection of the company, becoming AI augmented agency. It has two aims – to help agents become more efficient so they can spend more time on the human elements of the job, and to use AI to make life easier for our buyers and sellers.

“This is the latest of several AI projects we’ve launched. We’re investing across the business, and there’s a lot more coming on search specifically.”

Adam Horton, Founder, Hortons

The company added this AI-powered property search function comprises several AI projects in its pipeline.
